Greer Tank & Welding was founded by Glenn Greer in 1951 at his home in Fairbanks, Alaska. Glenn manufactured tanks at his family's home until 1960 when he built a shop for Greer Tank & Welding. His wife, Ruth Greer took over the company after his death in 1968. Ruth raised four children on her own after Glenn's death and brought Greer Tank & Welding to new heights never before imagined. Ruth Greer retired in 1998 following a stroke. After battleing increased health problems Ruth Greer passed away at home April 16, 2005 surrounded by family.
Expanding to Anchorage in 1972, and Lakewood, WA in 1995 two of Ruth's sons are still with the company. David Greer (Vice Prsident) and Mark Greer (General Manager). Ruth's son-in-law, Stephen Helms is the current President.
Greer Tank has withstood the test of time and takes great pride in its products and customer satisfaction.
